Musical education and experience... Although my recording and professional music career began at age 8, as a Chorister at the prestigious Christ Church Cathedral choir in Oxford, England, I rebelled against the family business (my father a conductor and professor at the Royal College of Music, London) and went into Law. Actually along the way I also studied Acoustical Engineering at Southampton University and spent several years managing supported housing projects, working with ex-offenders, drug and alcohol addiction, mental illness, physical disabilities.
Eventually, music and artistic expression won over again. I returned to college, earning a Masters degree in Composition for Film & TV at the London College of Music, working out of the famous Ealing Film Studios. I started music at the age of 5 with the cello and piano and have taken both to a high standard, performing as a pianist such great works as Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody of a Theme by Paganini. I began composing at Oxford and was a music scholar at Oakham School, one of the oldest schools in England, where I enjoyed opportunities to perform in front of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, Sir Malcolm Williamson (then Master of the Queen’s Music) and have original works performed in venues such as Coventry Cathedral and Jesus College, Cambridge.
